Laura Major is a Research Fellow, social scientist, and anthropologist. She is currently based in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Laura specialises in the study of material culture, justice, and community.
Her research investigates how relationships between people, objects, and places, shape their lives and the choices they make. Laura’s work helps in the design of better, fairer, practices and systems with aim of contributing to the sustainable and just management of material cultures and natural landscapes.
Elizabeth Lawson is a Research Associate and social scientist in the Centre for Water at Newcastle University. She is an interdisciplinary researcher who specialises in the management and operation of water and sanitation systems.
Her current research focus is on the provision of water and wastewater services in rural and island spaces. Elizabeth’s work aims to contribute to the provision of efficient, sustainable and equitable water and sanitation systems for all.
